Looking for fun events in June in Rotterdam? Fortunately, June is in full swing and the city is filled with great (summer) activities. Read on and be inspired.
The Rotterdam Rooftop Days are just around the corner! From 30 May to 7 June, you can discover Rotterdam as you’ve never seen it before – from the rooftops! The highlight? That is Walk The Block. An absolute must-see, as a temporary aerial walkway is specially created for the festival, connecting different rooftops. Via bridges and stairs, you walk across twelve rooftops and experience the area from a completely new perspective.
Along the way, you’ll learn more about the history, the creators, and the future of this place. Walk The Block can only be visited during the festival weekends and operates with timed entry slots.
Until 21 June, you can visit a very special exhibition at the WTC Rotterdam Art Gallery. Featuring work by Hulya Yilmaz, Marco Douma and Esther Schoonhoven, this is an exhibition where you can take in the artworks at a leisurely pace in a calm, spacious setting. The exhibition revolves around installations and series that do not reveal everything straight away, but instead invite visitors to keep looking and experience the works as a whole.
As every year, the month of June in Rotterdam is dedicated to architecture! This year, the festival hub can be found in the Keilekwartier, where construction begins on a flexible Materials Yard – a place where used building materials are collected, processed, and reused. On Wednesday 3 June, this yard will open and the whole month of June will be used to test what a circular city could look like. In the nearby Keilepand, you can see inspiring examples and join discussions about how you can contribute to a circular future yourself.
Of course, there is much more to see and experience. Discover it via the button below.
On Saturday 13 June, RotjeKoor will take place. A name that already says it all, as on this day performances will be held on indoor and outdoor stages at various unique locations across Rotterdam.
Everything is featured: large and small choirs, different ages, cultures and genres. The festival is free to attend and everyone is more than welcome to enjoy these atmospheric performances.
A game of beach volleyball right in the middle of Hofplein this summer? It’s possible! Due to ongoing works, a large pile of sand has been placed in front of CECE Bar Urbana until the end of July, and it has been given a surprising new purpose.
In collaboration with the Municipality of Rotterdam, the Hofplein Project Group, WOD by Culture Club, and Sportbedrijf Rotterdam, an urban beach volleyball court has been created here. The opening took place on Sunday 24 May, after which everyone is welcome to play a game in the heart of the city.
The Koopgoot is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and it’s being marked in style! On 21 June, the Koopgoot will be transformed into a temporary Pilates hotspot, in collaboration with Pilates Studio East. In between shopping, you can take part in short 30-second challenges that put your balance, strength and core to the test – either on your own or with your best friend.
Those who join in won’t just head home with sore muscles, but also with a goodie bag and a matcha as a reward.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is just around the corner, which means: watching football together in Rotterdam city centre. The Netherlands national team is ready to compete in Canada, Mexico and the United States, leading to evening and sometimes late-night matches here. Fortunately, you won’t miss a thing: matches starting before 10:00 p.m. are often allowed to be broadcast until the end, even if regular closing times differ.
Across the city centre, plenty of locations will be showing the World Cup on big screens in the coming weeks. From lively squares such as Stadhuisplein and Schouwburgplein to cosy hotspots by the water and throughout the city, everything revolves around shared viewing, atmosphere and football excitement. Expect packed terraces, outdoor screens in the sun or under city lights, DJs, and special celebrations when goals are scored.
