It is almost time for NN Marathon Rotterdam 2026. On April 11 and 12, all sports enthusiasts will be back in the starting blocks for an iconic round of Rotterdam.
The start of the 45th edition takes place at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge, where the race begins in a festive manner. The runners then cross the bridge towards Rotterdam South and ultimately finish on the Coolsingel.
Even if you are not taking part in the marathon, you can certainly still be part of it. Every year, hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic spectators line the course, creating a truly celebratory atmosphere. Here, you can cheer on the runners and soak up the excitement!
Is the full marathon still a bit too ambitious for you? Fortunately, there are plenty of other great options to successfully cross the Coolsingel finish line. For example, why not join the 10 kilometre run!
The urban 10 km course starts on Burgermeester van Walsumweg, close to the iconic Markthal, and runs beneath the Cube Houses through the heart of Rotterdam. As of this year, the total distance is exactly 10 km and follows part of the official marathon course. This means you will finish, just like the marathon runners, on the Coolsingel!
There is also the 4.2 km City Run, where you finish at the same location as the marathon participants the following day. For children, there is the NN Kids Run, with distances of 1 km and 2.5 km, giving them an unforgettable experience from a young age!
Finally, there is the 'Your Marathon Challenge', the Business Duo Marathon, the Business Relay Marathon, and the 'Marathon Walking Route'. In short: there is something for everyone!
Because the city is partially closed on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April, it may be difficult to reach some areas. The best tip is therefore to travel by public transport or bicycle, for both participants and spectators. Get off at Beurs or Blaak metro stations and easily walk to the start and finish location. Will you come and support the start of the full marathon on Sunday? Then get off at Wilhelminaplein metro station.
