September 13th and 14th are Open Monument Days in Rotterdam. This means that more than thirty Rotterdam monuments will open their doors to the public. Curious what that entails? Read all about it here!

On Saturday, September 13th, and Sunday, September 14th, many of Rotterdam's monuments will once again open their doors to the public during Rotterdam Heritage Open Day. Because it's already been 50 years since the Council of Europe declared 1975 the "European Year of Architectural Heritage," this anniversary year is dedicated to Heritage & Architecture!

Discover Rotterdam's monuments

Rotterdam's major icons, such as the vibrant Hotel New York, the Van Nelle Factory, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Sonneveld House museum, are opening their doors this weekend. Like never before, you can explore the city's monuments and learn more about their history.

You can also visit the Schiebroekselaan nuclear shelter, a Cold War bunker. In the 1990s, local residents recognized the value of this site and ensured its preservation. In addition, the Arminius Church, the Queen's Bridge, and the Melly Art Institute are open again.
