From impressive ships and spectacular on-water displays to exclusive excursions and behind-the-scenes access to the Port of Rotterdam, World Port Days is back.
On Friday 4, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026, Rotterdam will once again celebrate its world-famous harbour. The programme for the 49th edition has now been unveiled, promising a weekend packed with innovation, entertainment and unique experiences for visitors of all ages.
During World Port Days, you'll experience the many sides of the Port of Rotterdam. Around fifty organisations will be showcasing their work along the waterfront, giving visitors an insight into how they contribute to a safe, innovative and sustainable port.
You'll also have the opportunity to step aboard a variety of vessels, watch spectacular demonstrations on the water and join exclusive excursions that take you to parts of the harbour usually closed to the public.
As Europe's largest port continues to evolve, topics such as the energy transition, international trade, safety and liveability are becoming increasingly important. World Port Days offers a fascinating look at how businesses and organisations are shaping the port of the future – and how these developments impact both Rotterdam and the wider region.
Across the event site, several themed areas invite visitors to explore different aspects of the port in an interactive way.
The popular Innovation Quay returns bigger than ever, where leading port companies showcase the latest developments in technology, digitalisation and the energy transition.
The Royal Netherlands Navy will once again be taking part, offering insight into its vital role in protecting international shipping routes and supporting economic prosperity. At the Rijnmond Safety Square, visitors can learn how emergency services and regional partners work together to keep the area safe and resilient. Meanwhile, the Rijnhaven area highlights how a former working harbour is being transformed into a vibrant place to live, work and relax.
There's plenty to enjoy beyond the maritime activities. Throughout the weekend, visitors can relax at the food and drink areas, enjoy live entertainment on the cultural stages and browse unique products at the Rotterdam Makers Market.

As tradition dictates, the opening day on Friday is dedicated to young people, students and job seekers. This year, the educational programme moves to the Cruise Terminal Rotterdam, where Mayor Carola Schouten will officially open the event.
Visitors can explore the wide range of career opportunities available in the port at the revamped MATCH Career Event. Highlights include a job fair, interactive games hosted by House of Esports and inspiring presentations from companies operating in the Port of Rotterdam.
The renewed Port Hackathon also returns, bringing together hundreds of students to develop innovative solutions to real-life challenges facing the port. New additions this year include JINC's XL Sector Day, along with special shows and excursions focusing on education and career opportunities within the maritime sector.
World Port Days takes place on 4, 5 and 6 September 2026.
Tickets for the popular excursions go on sale on Monday 17 August at 12 noon. Tickets for the Oceandiva cruise during Saturday evening's spectacular water show are already available in advance.
