RotjeKoor will take place on Saturday June 13th. A name that describes it perfectly, because on this day there will be performances on indoor and outdoor stages in all kinds of special places in Rotterdam.
Everything is covered: big and small choirs, different ages, cultures and genres. The festival is free to visit and everyone is more than welcome to enjoy these atmospheric performances.
Throughout the afternoon, numerous choirs will be performing across the city. Last year alone featured as many as 140 choirs at more than 25 singing locations! From a cappella and opera to operetta, pop and rock, gospel and theatre — there’s something for everyone.
Across the city, music will be in the air everywhere. You’ll find choirs performing at locations including Beursplein, De Doelen, Lijnbaan, the Markthal, the Cube Houses, above the Koopgoot at Van Oldenbarneveltplaats, Stadhuisplein, Eendrachtsplein, Binnenwegplein and many more.

During the closing event of RotjeKoor at Stadhuisplein, this year’s edition will end on a special high note. On Saturday at 5:30 PM, the square will be the setting for a large-scale musical tribute to two Rotterdam icons: Gerard Cox and Joke Bruijs. Together with a mass choir, a medley of their best-known songs will be performed, including of course “’t Is Weer Voorbij Die Mooie Zomer”, as well as classics such as “Toen Was Geluk Heel Gewoon” and “Diep In Mijn Hart”.
