Frontrunner

There is nothing more fun than stopping work a little early and heading to the terrace. And preferably a terrace where we can enjoy the sun rays until late! Let's hope the sun comes back to visit soon.

Below we share a few nice terraces where the sun shines all day! Are you reading along?

Brasserie Jules

The ideal place in Rotterdam Centre to enjoy the sun is Brasserie Jules. Why? This terrace is large, right in front of WTC Rotterdam and has the ideal location for the sun to reach.

This brasserie, with a French twist, is ideal for a glass of wine, a nice lunch or, if you don't want to leave the terrace, dinner.

De Huismeester

On the corner of the Meent and the Haagseveer you will find De Huismeester. A cosy and homely cafe where you can sip your drink among the shopping people of the Meent. Tasty beers, lemonades and, if you're hungry, delicious tapas y pintxos. Enjoy!

‘In case you have set your sights on a drink, don't worry, because they also serve tasty mimosas and cocktails.’

Teds Place

Okay, this may not be the place for an after work drink, but it is a place with a great terrace. Teds Place is located on the roof of the Schieblock, between the flowers and bees. And where do you have more sun than on a roof, where nothing can block the sun's rays?

But what do you do here if you can't have a drink? Teds is the place for a nice breakfast or lunch! Or an all-day brunch, as they call it. In case you have set your sights on a drink, don't worry, because they also serve tasty mimosas and cocktails.

Bistrobar Binnenrotte & het Stadsterras

Did you know that the central library of Rotterdam has a very nice bistro bar? The terrace is located on the first floor, where you can enjoy a snack, a drink and a beautiful view over the Binnenrotte every day of the week until the evening.

The Markthal as a backdrop, the sun on your face and a nice beer in your hand; a great end to your working day!

Served

You will find Served in the heart of Rotterdam Centre, a stone's throw from the Koopgoot. Served is located in a beautiful spot on the Coolsingel, is open seven days a week, serves delicious sandwiches and is the place for a nice cup of (ice) coffee.

Of course there is room inside, but when the sun is shining you want nothing more than to enjoy it for as long as possible! With the perfect location of Served's terrace, you can sit in the sun for hours, while enjoying the city's energy.

Parqiet

Want to get out into nature? Then take a seat on the terrace of Parqiet in the Park, near the Euromast. As soon as the sun shines, the beach chairs and picnic tables are taken out, so you can find a nice spot in the sun. With a view of Het Park, you can enjoy the amazing weather while trying their delicious breakfast and lunch menu.

Bar Stroom

At Bar Stroom you can enjoy the best locally brewed beers, waste-free mocktails and plant-based dishes made with local vegetables and delicious products from food pioneers from BlueCity.

Bar Stroom is located in the old Tropicana building and in the current BlueCity. Bar Stroom works together with local farmers, innovative food entrepreneurs and Rotterdam culture makers to bring about change. On the plate, in the glass and on stage.

De Kerktuin

And last but not least, De Kerktuin. This is a very special terrace. As the name suggests, the terrace is located near a church. Until September, the forecourt of the Arminius church on the Westersingel has been converted into a pop-up terrace!

Enjoy an extensive drinks menu from cocktails to specialty beers. De Kerktuin is open Wednesday to Sunday and, if the weather is nice, also Monday and Tuesday. The terrace is closed when it rains.
