The World Port Days in Rotterdam are finally upon us again. The three-day festival kicks off for the 48th time on September 5th!
Hundreds of thousands of visitors discover the Port of Rotterdam during the World Port Days with special ships, exciting excursions, water spectacles, and more!
Just like in previous years, during the Wereldhavendagen (World Port Days), you can enjoy classics like the Match Career Event on Friday (the perfect place for anyone dreaming of a career in the port), a colourful collection of ships along the quays, and of course, the spectacular fireworks display on Saturday evening.
Navy vessel enthusiasts can indulge themselves at the Holland Amerikakade, where, among other things, the 111-meter-long work pontoon HEBO-CB1 can be admired. A special lineup awaits at Parkkade, including the Chemgas seagoing vessel Sefarina and the Coast Guard's emergency tug Guardian.
A striking addition this year: the Rijnhaven and the quays surrounding the Fenixloods and the brand-new FENIX museum are now officially part of the event site for the first time. Here, the sailing work ship of the Sea Rangers, who are committed to nature restoration at sea, is moored.
The Rijnhaven will be showcasing its most relaxed side this weekend. Think pedal boats, canoes, SUPs, and a floating skate ramp. There's also something for the little ones, including a child-sized fire engine.
Want a glimpse of what's to come? Then be sure to visit the 'Innovatiekade', where companies will showcase how they're working towards a sustainable, smart, and future-proof port. At the Veiligheidsplein (Safety Square), you'll see how the port handles crisis management and emergency situations, with exciting demonstrations.
And of course, the Royal Netherlands Navy will be there again. Among them is the CSS Den Helder, the newest supply ship, which will be on display in Rotterdam for the first time and will be open to visitors all weekend.
Want to join an excursion or boat trip? Mark your calendars for Monday, August 18th at 12:00 PM, because that's when ticket sales start!
