Rotterdam Centre has been nominated for two Kern Awards: the Kern Creativity Award and the Kern Marketing Award. And we are proud of that!

Perhaps you remember: last year in the fall when we had that cool promotion where you could shop great deals during the Five Day Deals? Or last summer, when a vintage car picked up tourists from all over the country and brought them to Rotterdam Centre during the De Deur Uit campaign?

Two campaigns that we are proud of and of which we can now even share that they have been nominated for an award! This week during the annual Provada fair, it was announced that we have a chance to win the Kern Creativity Awards and the Kern Marketing Awards.

Nomination Creativity Award

The Kern Creativity Award is the prize for the most inspiring and enthusing initiative for visitors and/or entrepreneurs of a core of an area. With the Five Day Deals we managed to get a nomination!

The Five Day Deals was created to prevent huge crowds on Black Friday. By spreading Black Friday over five days, shoppers could take advantage of the best deals of the year at their own chosen time.

In addition, affiliated stores opened a little earlier. This gives customers even more time to do their Christmas shopping in peace.

Nomination Marketing Award

De Deur Uit is a campaign where entrepreneurs from the centre of Rotterdam collected tourists from all over the Netherlands with the 'De Deur Uit Express' (a great Old-timer bus). This to show them our amazing city after a not-so-great period full of lockdowns.

Tourists were given a tour of Rotterdam and afterwards they could enjoy nice shops and tasty snacks. After a wonderful day, they were safely returned home to their home city by the De Deur Uit Express bus.

This campaign has been nominated for the Kern Marketing Award. This is the award for the most professional campaign, action and event focused on brand strategy. How cool is that?
