6x Fun events in September in Rotterdam
On Saturday, August 23rd, the Koopgoot shopping area will be a little greener than ever. For one day only, the shopping district in the heart of Rotterdam will be transformed into a colorful city garden full of Kalanchoes.
Under the motto 'Don't talk, just plant', you are very welcome to come by, enjoy a green surprise and take home a free Kalanchoe.
A temporary garden is emerging between the shops and shoppers, demonstrating how simple and fun greening can be. Come relax among the flowers, take a cheerful Polaroid at the quote wall, and take home a Kalanchoe Garden: a hardy plant that blooms for up to 100 days and adds color both indoors and outdoors.
Before the event, Pauline Buurma (director of Rotterdam Centre) and Sonja de Wild (marketing manager of the Koopgoot) visited the grower in Westland. There, they saw firsthand how close the plants are grown: sustainably and with care for both people and the environment.
Pauline: "Greening is high on our urban agenda. How wonderful that the Koopgoot is now literally showcasing this."
It's the perfect day to hit the town, because during this free event, you'll receive a free Kalanchoe Garden in a shopper (while supplies last!). You can also take a Polaroid at the colourful quote wall, and the growers will be on hand to tell you all about caring for these beautiful plants.
After the event, the cubes with the plants will remain in place until August 25th. After that, they will also be distributed to visitors, so the flowers will literally spread throughout Rotterdam.
