Got a loose button, a small tear or a favourite piece of clothing that could use some attention? This October, you can learn how to repair your clothes yourself at Primark in Rotterdam city centre. On 7, 8 and 9 October, the store is hosting free repair workshops, where you can learn practical techniques to help your clothes last longer.
During the workshops, professionals will show you useful tips and techniques for repairing clothes. You’ll learn how to fix small tears, replace buttons and carry out other simple repairs. You don’t need to be an experienced sewer or particularly crafty – the workshops are designed to make clothing repairs accessible to everyone.
The idea is simple: by repairing small signs of wear and tear yourself, you don’t have to throw away a garment as soon as something goes wrong. Instead, you can give it a new lease of life and enjoy wearing it for longer.
The Repair Workshops take place at the Primark store in Rotterdam city centre. As the workshops are being held in-store, they’re easy to get to for both Rotterdam residents and visitors from the surrounding area.
The workshops are part of Primark’s wider efforts to encourage people to wear their clothes for longer and take a more circular approach to fashion. They also coincide with Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week, which highlights more sustainable ways of dealing with clothing and fashion in Rotterdam.
