The UrbanGuides will take you on a tour up to the roof of City House on Kruiskade. Your architecture guide will introduce you to the city in an engaging and enthusiastic way. From the roof of City House, you’ll discover Rotterdam from a whole new perspective while learning all about the surrounding area. During the Rotterdam Rooftop Days, the UrbanGuides invite you to see the Lijnbaan flats from a completely different perspective. Once celebrated as the ultimate symbol of the modern city of the future, the area has grown into an iconic part of Rotterdam’s post-war reconstruction. For years, the rooftops remained hidden from view, but now they offer a surprising new perspective on both the city and the history of the Lijnbaan. A unique opportunity to experience this Rotterdam classic from above!
Ever wondered what Rotterdam Central Station looks like from the rooftop? During this tour, you’ll get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Rotterdam Central and climb its remarkable roof, with panoramic views across the entire station and the surrounding area.
A true must-see this year is Walk The Block, a unique route across the Schiekadeblok. Known for its nightlife and cultural initiatives, this creative part of the city is on the brink of major transformation — making this the perfect moment to experience it.
For the festival, a temporary skywalk is being built, connecting multiple rooftops. Across bridges and staircases, you’ll traverse twelve different roofs and discover the area from a completely new perspective.
Along the way, you’ll learn more about the history, the makers, and the future of this place. Walk The Block is only open during the festival weekends and works with timed entry slots.

Pre-order a well-filled picnic box for two and find a great spot on one of the rooftops.
