On Thursday 9 July, Meent will transform into one large live music stage during Jazz op de Meent x North Sea Round Town. In the lead-up to the NN North Sea Jazz Festival, this collaboration brings an afternoon and evening packed with live performances to the heart of the city. Expect dozens of concerts, a vibrant atmosphere, and a unique opportunity to experience Meent in a completely different way.
From 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, live music will fill every corner of the Meent, from terraces and cafés to boutiques, concept stores and other unique venues along the street. With no fewer than 50 performances across 25 locations, the Meent will become a vibrant musical trail running through the city centre.
What makes this edition particularly special is the dedicated Jazz Shopping Evening. In addition to the regular Friday late-night shopping, all shops and boutiques on the Meent will remain open until 9:00 pm on Thursday evening.
This means you can not only enjoy live music but also browse and shop while jazz, soul and other live sounds create the soundtrack for the evening.
During Jazz op de Meent, performances will pop up in the most unexpected places. Concerts will take place inside shops and hospitality venues, as well as outdoors in public spaces.
Rotterdam artist Jèryh Luz, part of the Femme in Focus programme, will open the event with her trio. The opening performance will take place outside the Postillion Hotel on the Meent. Other artists on the line-up include Diana Dzhabbar & Brenn Luiten, Half Past Seven ft. Tallulah Rose and Tamarae.
The performances will be spread across 25 locations on and around the Meent. The following venues and businesses will be taking part in Jazz op de Meent:
1NUL8, Bar Pepito, Café van Zanten, Cafecito, Cavallaro Napoli, Country House, De Huismeester, De IJssalon, Dudok Rotterdam, Essentiel Antwerp, Haagse Bluf, HAY Rotterdam, Nespresso Boutique, NIO House Rotterdam, POL Rotterdam, Postillion Hotel Rotterdam Centrum, State of Art Rotterdam, Syl's FlowerPower, The Atelier Munro House Rotterdam, The Phone Lab Rotterdam, THOMS, Vlaamsch Broodhuys Meent, Wakuli, YaYa Rotterdam and Zola Next Door.
