Rotterdam offers a rich range of festivals, which extend beyond just music festivals. From lFFR and Cross Comix to the World Port Days, there is something for everyone. Below you will discover various festivals in our city, including the dates for 2024 and some in 2025.
At the beginning of this year we once again enjoyed the best film festival there is: the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR)! The dates for 2025 are also already known; the 54th edition of the festival will take place from Thursday, January 30 to Sunday, February 9, 2025.
During IFFR, Rotterdam cinemas, theaters and film houses open their doors to a wide range of films from all over the world. Film lovers of young and old meet here during the best films and events. And makers who push the boundaries of cinema and visual art are given a platform.

Like every summer, everyone will be dancing at the Blijdorp Festival in the Roel Langerak Park. But this year it is an extra special edition. Blijdorp has been around for ten years!
The line-up includes both big names and local talent. Expect Speedy J & Stranger, Philou Louzolo, HEF (live), Mall Grab & Flansie, MCR-T, Jyoty, David Vunk and Sophie Straat (live), among others.

Every year you visit the largest indoor jazz festival in the world in Rotterdam South. This is of course about NN North Sea Jazz! During the largest jazz festival in the Benelux you will see live performances by world-famous jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop artists.
North Sea Jazz has been the city's largest music festival for years. The international phenomenon has been taking place in Rotterdam Ahoy since 2006 and has become a major attraction. In 2024 you could visit North Sea Jazz on July 12, 13 and 14. In 2025, North Sea Jazz will take place on July 11, 12 and 13. The programme is not yet known at the time of writing.
During the Rotterdam Roof Days you will visit various roofs in our city for a weekend. You can enjoy various rooftop routes, tours and theater performances throughout Rotterdam. There are also beautiful cycling and walking routes to follow, alone or with a guide.
In addition to the annual festival weekend, an extra project is often organised, such as the Rotterdam Rooftop Walk in 2022 and Bovenop Zuid in 2023. The 10th edition in 2024 took place from 24 to 26 May 2024 and was again a great success. From July 17 to August 21, 2024, you can enjoy beautiful live music on the cozy roof terrace of the De Heuvel building on Grotekerkplein for no fewer than six summer evenings. City carillonneur Richard de Waardt invites top carillonneurs and other top musicians to create a beautiful, fun and unforgettable musical evening.

Roffa Mon Amour is one of the most magical film festivals in the city and from August 14 to 25 it is time again for challenging films from new and well-known filmmakers.
This year the annual film festival will take place again in the sculpture garden of art institution Brutus on the Keilewerf. At this beautiful location you can enjoy the best films from all over the world among the most bizarre works of art.
The films start at half past nine, when the sun slowly disappears behind the horizon. Grab one of the available headphones and enjoy a movie in a magical atmosphere. You can enjoy a drink in the sculpture garden before and after!
Cross Comix shows that visual storytelling is also a mature art form by linking it to other art disciplines and current events.
During the Cross Comix festival you will meet dozens of makers in the Cross Comix Atelier. Read and/or buy zines with visual stories from around the world, learn how to screen print and learn more about specific topics during the Show & Tell programmes.
Cross Comix is back on September 20 and 21 in 2024.
During the World Port Days, the port of Rotterdam is put in the spotlight. Everyone can take a look behind the scenes of maritime life. Whether you like shipping and ports or not, the shows during the world port are impressive for everyone.
In addition to boat parades, there are also fireworks shows and the Royal Navy shows what they have to offer. So expect spectacle in the form of gigantic ships, fireworks, parachutists, helicopters and Rotterdam harbour music!
In 2024, the World Port Days will be on September 6, 7 and 8.
