In the Netherlands there is no better place to celebrate New Year's Eve than in Rotterdam Centre! With the largest and most spectacular fireworks show there is, you will start the new year with a bang.

Spectacular fireworks show

We had to wait three years for another National Fireworks Show. Due to two corona years and a heavy winter storm, we had to miss the beautiful shows for three years. But this year will be different, because on the night of December 31 to January 1, a gigantic fireworks show will erupt above the Erasmus Bridge! And the music? This is provided by none other than Martin Garrix! With his unique mix, especially for this evening, his show will even be broadcast live on SBS6. And you can be there!

Martin Garrix

This year it's not just the fireworks that will surprise you. Visitors to Het Nationale Vuurwerk can also look forward to a mix created especially for the occasion by Martin Garrix, the Dutch DJ and producer who excelled earlier this year with performances at Tomorrowland, the Las Vegas Grand Prix and two solo shows during Amsterdam Dance Event.

A safe alternative

Thanks to the National (Children's) Fireworks, there is a safer alternative to lighting fireworks. The shows are organized and performed by professionals, so that all fireworks are set off in a responsible manner.

The organization tries to limit the ecological footprint of fireworks as much as possible, with the ultimate goal of creating a completely climate-neutral fireworks show. Until then, they compensate their C02 emissions with an annual donation to Trees for All, an organization that realizes extensive forest projects at home and abroad.

The National Children's Fireworks

There is also a fun programme for the little ones on New Year's Eve. During the children's show earlier in the evening, Peppa Pig and Bing & Flop will be present especially for them. Do you want to be here? Check out the website of the National Children's Fireworks and order your (free) tickets!

The National Fireworks have been an indispensable part of the Rotterdam festival agenda since 2007. Hundreds of thousands of visitors have attended the thirteen editions that have taken place at the Erasmus Bridge so far and millions of television viewers followed the fireworks spectacles from their living rooms. This year the National fireworks will be broadcast live on SBS6 from 11:58 PM (until 12:10 AM).
