The dark month of December is the perfect time to pay extra attention to visibility in traffic. That's why the Municipality of Rotterdam and Rotterdam Centrum are organizing the Bicycle Light Campaign again this year: a practical and fun safety event where cyclists can have their bicycle lights repaired or replaced for free.
On Friday 19 December, between 16:00 and 20:00, experts will be ready on the Coolsingel, near the Bijenkorf, to help cyclists with broken or missing lights. Whether it’s a loose cable, a battery that needs replacing or a completely new light, visitors will be assisted on the spot so they can continue their journey safely and visibly.
Just like last year, a cheerful Santa band will be present to create a festive mood. Despite the winter chill, it always brings a warm moment to the Coolsingel!
The event is a collaboration between the Municipality of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Centrum and the Cyclists' Union. In addition to carrying out repairs, volunteers from the Cyclists' Union are happy to share more about their projects and their efforts to make Rotterdam a safe, pleasant and cycle-friendly city.
