Rotterdam is getting a new music festival this summer. The very first edition of Good Times Festival Rotterdam will take place in Kralingse Bos on Friday, June 12th. A festive after-work evening full of live music, soul, funk, and disco, it's the perfect way to kick off the weekend. The theme: Where Soul Meets Funk.
Good Times is all about enjoying time together. With friends, colleagues, or family, a drink in hand, singing along to well-known hits. The atmosphere is relaxed and social, think Friday afternoon drinks, but just a little bigger and more energetic.
The evening kicks off with an R&B Sing Along, hosted by DJ Irwan and Rico Green. Guests are taken on a journey through well-known crowd favourites by artists such as Bruno Mars and Candy Dulfer. For this special edition, performers including Re-play, Glennis Grace and Gio will also be joining. The Sing Along concept has already sold out venues across the Netherlands, and this XL edition promises an energetic start to the night.
Afterwards, it is time for Treasure, the well-known Bruno Mars tribute band that won last year’s SBS6 programme The Tribute: Battle of the Bands. For anyone who missed out on tickets for Bruno Mars in Amsterdam – or simply wants to get into the mood beforehand – this is the perfect alternative.
After Treasure, the ten-piece band Soul Connection, led by Candy Dulfer, takes to the stage. Together with headliner Sister Sledge, they deliver a spectacular finale. The legendary group is guaranteed to perform classic hits such as We Are Family, Lost in Music, Frankie and Last Dance.
Good Times Festival is organised by JMR Event Makers in collaboration with Boothstock Festival, which has ten years of experience hosting festivals in the Kralingse Bos. The site will be set up as a welcoming festival village, complete with lockers, high-quality facilities and a variety of food trucks. One of the highlights is Karma Kebab by Cas & Kas, serving up delicious street food.
According to JMR director Jasper Scholte, Good Times is a natural addition:
“It always felt like a shame to build an entire festival village for just one day. By hosting Good Times on Friday and Boothstock on Saturday, we make the most of that energy. It’s a fantastic start to the weekend.”
Good Times Festival Rotterdam takes place on Friday 12 June, from 4:30 pm to 11:00 pm, in the Kralingse Bos. The festival is aimed at a broad audience aged 25 to 65+ and promises to be a great celebration.
Tickets cost €49.50 and are available via the Good Times Festival website.
