Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th, because Het Park near the Euromast will be transformed into a musical paradise. During the Weekend of Classical Music, you can enjoy a colourful mix of classical sounds, world music, and magical performances amidst the greenery—completely free of charge.

The Classical Music Weekend is an event you won't want to miss. The festival brings together popular events like the Day of Romantic Music, Sinfonia in the Park, the ICCR, and the Park itself. Expect two days of music, atmosphere, and experiences, all right in the heart of the city.

Saturday: Romance in full bloom

Saturday is entirely dedicated to Romantic Music Day. The Park transforms into an enchanting backdrop filled with classical sounds, stylishly decorated stages, and romantic vibes. Think baroque, classical, tango, samba, and more, performed by top musicians of international stature.

Put on your finest outfit (hats as well!), stroll the paths, and discover seven unique stages, each with its own unique atmosphere. Packing a picnic blanket? Even better. There are plenty of food trucks with delicious treats, so all you have to do is enjoy the music and the scenery.

Sunday: symphony, family and fireworks

On Sunday, join us for Sinfonia in het Park. The afternoon begins with a cheerful family concert: perfect for all ages to discover classical music in an accessible way. Later in the evening, the grand evening concert follows, complete with impressive soloists, a symphony orchestra, and a spectacular fireworks display as the finale.

The music remains accessible, yet surprising with forays into genres like comedy and jazz. All under the direction of conductor Conrad van Alphen, founder of Sinfonia Rotterdam.

Music and nature hand in hand

Het Park near the Euromast is more than just a venue; it breathes music history. For decades, this green oasis has been the backdrop for events where music takes center stage. Nienke van Wijk, business manager of the Het Park Foundation:

“For many Rotterdammers, Het Park and music have an inextricable bond. Older Rotterdammers know that the connection isn't limited to recent years. Music has been the main theme for many events over the past decades, while for others it's a festive element,” says Nienke van Wijk, business manager of the Het Park Foundation.
