With Café Restaurant Erasmus, Rotterdam has a new hotspot! Expect grand café classics in a historic building, in the heart of the city centre!
There is hardly a more central location than the Coolsingel! This former bank building is an iconic building, where the large windows and chic interior welcome you. You may also know the location from the previous restaurants that were located here, such as La Buvette and drinks bar Floryn.
Owner Aren: “Previously you could only enter through the entrance of the office building above. We have had a beautiful entrance made so that we are more accessible. People now walk in much more easily and we have noticed that in recent weeks. In the last weeks of the year, the finishing touches have been put into place and now we are really going to have a blast.”
After a complete renovation, the end result is impressive. The renovated restaurant has the appearance of a grand café. The large windows that let in a lot of light and the use of natural colours and materials provide a serene and accessible appearance. In addition, there is a large reading table, a restaurant area with low seating areas and high bar tables for drinks, suitable for any time of the day.
You can go to Café Restaurant Erasmus all day long, thanks to the wide range of food and drinks. Start the day with breakfast or a cup of coffee and cake. For lunch there are the grand café classics, such as a 12-hour meal, the Ceasar salad, boeuf Bourguignon and, Erasmus hamburger. Would you like to do it a little more chic? Then choose the tuna tartare, sea bream fillet or oysters.
You're also in the right place here when it comes to tasty drinks. With 17 beers on tap and another 25 canned or bottled beers, there is something for every beer drinker.
In addition to the option to walk in or make a reservation for lunch or dinner, the 300m2 space and the large terrace on the Coolsingel with more than 150 seats are also perfect for large dinners, drinks and parties.
Café Restaurant Erasmus is open daily from 10am. From Tuesday to Saturday, Erasmus closes at 12:00 AM and on Sunday and Monday the restaurant closes at 6:00 PM.
