On 7 March 2026, it’s that time again: Museum Night Rotterdam. Explore Rotterdam’s museums in a unique way. From 20:00 to 01:00 you’ll have access to dozens of cultural hotspots across the city.
The Museumnacht010 programme is packed with exhibitions, performances, workshops, culinary delights, and more. It’s impossible to attend every event during Museum Night in Rotterdam—the selection is just too vast! We’re here to help and share some of the highlights below.
Visit the industrial sculpture garden of Brutus Garden! This artistic free space acts as an open-air museum where monumental, often provocative sculptures and installations by Joep van Lieshout and other international artists come together in a setting of concrete and greenery.
While you’re there, don’t forget to stop by the Brutus Art Space, where the new exhibition by Carlijn Kingma, Fear of Falling, is on display. Carlijn Kingma is an artist and cartographer who maps not countries, but the invisible systems of our society. Through her detailed works, she makes complex themes such as the financial system and housing market tangible. She combines art with in-depth journalism and asks the crucial question: how do we want to shape our shared future?
More into parties? Dive into the night with Brutus x QISSA. QISSA is a Rotterdam-based platform that gives a stage to creative makers who write their own rules. Together with Brutus, they’ve put together a line-up ranging from raw post-punk to groovy DJ sets.
Bring out the artist in you! During the drop-in workshop Beyond Surrealism, you’ll create a cadavre exquis together with others: an artwork where everyone adds their own piece of collage or drawing. This way, a surprising piece of art emerges that no one could have imagined alone.
Fancy a bit of spoken word? Between 20:30–21:00 and 23:10–23:40, five talented young performers will deliver a spoken word performance, guided by spoken word artist Moze Naél.
End the evening at Bar Renilde, where you can enjoy a beer or cocktail with the Rotterdam skyline as your backdrop.
Got a way with words? During Museumnacht010 at Melly x SPARK, you and other visitors at Kunstinstituut Melly can create a story together, word by word, on paper. All contributions come together to form a paper trail that moves through the exhibition I Breathe, You Breathe by donna Kukama.
For a musical evening, join from 20:00 to 22:00 for musical improvisations organised by House of Knowledge. During this intimate musical programme within the exhibition Spirit Faith Grace Rage, you’ll enjoy a curated line-up of musicians and local talent.
Prefer some quiet time? Throughout the evening, Melly offers a calm, low-stimulation space in the auditorium on the first floor—designed especially for visitors who need a moment of rest and reflection amid the night’s bustle.
