The Rotterdam Warm Winter Weeks kick off on Friday, December 12th with a colourful parade of lights through Rotterdam's city centre: the Rotterdam Warm Winter Parade.
After Mayor Carola Schouten lights the Christmas tree, the parade of lights will make its way through the city center. Join roller skaters, dancers, skaters, freerunners, soundbikes, and more as you journey through a city center bathed in light. Naturally, there's music and surprising light effects.

From December 12th to January 4th, light art and light projects can be admired at various locations in Rotterdam's city centre. Lijnbaan, Hofplein, and Binnenwegplein will be illuminated this winter thanks to these unique sculptures.
It's time to explore Rotterdam's best Christmas markets! For example, come to The Maker Market in the Groot Handelsgebouw on December 12, 13, or 14 for live music, snacks, and of course, handmade items.
Prefer to enjoy the winter temperatures outside? Then come to Trompenburg on December 12, 13, and 14 for a green Christmas market. Expect all sorts of green products, such as unique garden decorations, wood turning, harvested fruit and herb products, handmade ceramics, and warm wool blankets and sweaters.

On Saturday, December 27, 2025, the city invites you for an enchanting evening stroll through atmospheric streets and past iconic Rotterdam highlights. Whether you're coming with the whole family, friends, or colleagues, there's a route for everyone.
The Rotterdam Memory Walk will take place on Saturday, December 13th. This event has a wonderful goal: walking to combat dementia. This walk raises money for dementia research at Erasmus MC. By participating, you support important dementia research at Erasmus MC.
What can you expect? You'll start at Plein 1940 at 6:30 PM along with the other walkers. This approximately 7 km walk will take you past several of Rotterdam's iconic landmarks, where the beautiful Christmas lights create an especially beautiful view.
The annual Bridge Run is back! On Sunday, December 14th, countless Rotterdam athletes will be lining up at the starting line of this renowned running race. The classic 15k course will take you across the city's famous bridges, including, of course, the Erasmus Bridge.
Can't participate this year? Be there and cheer on all the runners!
A silent disco on ice skates! On December 13th, the Rotterdam Ice Rink will be transformed into the best party in town. Starting at 7:00 PM, lace up your skates and put on your headphones to enjoy the best hits. Sing, dance, and skate; will you be there?
