Shopping XXL: these are the largest stores in Rotterdam
What better way to learn the fashion trade than through hands-on experience? Following the success of Banlieue House in Alexandrium Shopping Center, lifestyle brand Banlieue, in partnership with Zadkine, is reopening its innovative store concept this fall; this time in the heart of Rotterdam, on Korte Lijnbaan.
Banlieue House revolves around a unique partnership with Zadkine. Students from Zadkine's Beauty & Fashion College and Business College have the opportunity to develop their talents in the heart of the city. They learn all about the latest retail trends and gain valuable experience in sales, customer service, and event organization.
"This partnership offers a unique opportunity for our students to discover their talents in a dynamic and realistic environment," says Kim Cornelius, director of Zadkine Beauty & Fashion College, Zadkine Vocational School Schoonhoven, and Zadkine Optiek College. "It's a valuable initiative for both the education and retail sectors."
Lifestyle brand Banlieue runs the store alongside the students. Here, they learn all about sales, customer service, and event planning. The result is a powerful learning environment where theory is immediately put into practice. "The entire Banlieue team works shoulder to shoulder with the students to make this retail concept a success once again," says Richard Lopes Mendes, director of Banlieue.
Clan de Banlieue is a lifestyle brand founded in 2014. It all began with a school project, where one of the founders designed a T-shirt and started selling it on Instagram. The T-shirt quickly gained popularity and attracted the attention of people from all over the country.
With their raw and authentic style, they managed to attract a loyal community of fashion enthusiasts. In 2017, Clan de Banlieue opened their very first store on Zaagmolendrift in Rotterdam North. In 2023, they moved to Rotterdam City Centre, with a store on Korte Lijnbaan. They also opened a location in the Alexandrium Shopping Center.
